What Almanac??

In the latest of a series of riveting boaty questions (WH Smiths have sold out of What Nautical Almanac Magazine) I was wondering whether the smaller Channel Almanac would suffice for us as we are unlikely to venture further than CI, West Country and possibly Northern France?

If so does anyone have the ISDN number to enable me to order a copy from my local bookshop?

Getting confident with the new chartplotter then Nick? The Channel Islands are only little you know, you can easily miss them if you don't turn left at the right time

Smaller channel almanac is all I used to use Nick, covers French coast too
and doesnt weigh the boat down as much/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Why do you need to shed weight from your boat?

Over the years boat like me has put on a bit of weight with extras such as generator, holding tank, bow thruster, more nav gear and Joanne's shoes so it helps to shed a bit in an effort to gain some speed etc...

I tried that first time I wanted to get from Cowes to Hamble in the dark. Have you tried going that slow, it's like trying to keep to 30 in 30 mph zone while driving. Gave up in the end and cut him up just past Brambles.
