Hi,

Looking for some advice here please, I have had to replace the plywood backing on the aft bulkhead of our cabin, It was glued to the fibreglass cabin shell.
There is the remains of some sort of adhesive but don't know what, my question is what would be the best thing to use to glue the new plywood to the fibreglass?

Would it be sikaflex, some kind of glue or some of these resins with poly beads?

any thoughts would be great

thanks
Scott

if the surface is flat then contact adhesive but make sure you have good ventilation & no ignition source

Assuming it is non structural then blobs of No Nails would be fine. Contact adhesive is OK but unless the GRP is smooth and gel coated you are unlikely to get good contact all over the panel. Sika is OTT for this type of job and you would need to find a way of holding it into place while it cures.
