I am appalled by the large photograph on page 99 of PBO February which shows a woman with two small children without lifejackets at the rear of a boat under sail. Indeed, none of the crew is wearing a life jacket.

As far as I know marinas demand that small children wear lifejackets even when on the pontoons which, hopefully, will go nowehere.

This photograph sets a very bad example.

Not a good advert for flotilla sailing either as they say every picture tells a story. I imagine this scenario, the two men on the starboard side with plenty of sailing experience have been paired up (lucky Dip?) with the unexperienced family with three children including a baby. Sounds like a fun time what do you think. Do people actually take babies on flotilla holidays ?
I suspect that the boat name has been air brushed out or is there normally a gap in the backstay.
Didn't see anything like this while on flotilla holiday in the Ionian last year, in fact safety was as much a priority as having fun.

Sunsail? I didn't see any in ionian wearing lifejackets, certainly non on the lead boat, who themselves were to be found wakeboarding off halyard, only one helming, and boat turning all over the place.
