What about a new M710 SSB - legal?

Hello all

These radio licensing laws and the freaking EEC CE marking rules really tick me off.

Having said that, I do not wish to fall foul of the law so was wondering if, given that second hand 710's are legal, what if I installed a new 710 in st Martin or something?

If he new M710 has a CE mark then you are OK. The advantage of the older M700(UK) is that it was built before CE marks were used thus remains legal as a second hand unit. The newer M710 has the advantage that it is better with a pactor modem, but otherwise the extra money doesnt buy you very much else.
