As some on this forum will know,Last year i brought my old Storebro from Germany to sunny cumbria,The route covered some 900NM many things happened and the whole story would take ages to tell.Anyway, one of the worste things was the failure of the autopilot.this meant i had to helm the whole way in some of the worste weather i have seen in years.Today i went onboard to remove the batteries and bring them ashore for charging. While i was onboard my son(who had completed the trip with me)was asking various questions about the various equipment to found onboard. We were recounting the trip we had done and the troubles we had been delt.During this conversation i opened the cover to the autopilot and i heard my son say"Whats that wire hanging down there?" !!!!!! yes-you guessed it !! the wiring had come loose from the Steering pump and was hanging there for all to see.I reconnected it and hey-presto the autopilot sprung into life.900nm of helming for nowt. What a complete plonker i am. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
