And I've got absolutely no pics to prove it.

Today we've had some of the best weather this summer so we had a blast round Start Point and fished off Beesands and Torcross.

On the way we hooked up with a large pod of dolphins/porpoises. I'm never sure which is which, but these were big, and they had some very small young with them, all just cruising along and happy to look back at us.

Fishing was sparse, but enough mackerel to souse for lunch tomorrow and the freezer is still full from last week's catch.

Salcombe is home to the impressive CaryAli tonight (http://www.alloyyachts.co.nz/yachts/motor+yachts/CaryAli.html) and it seemed most of the small craft in the harbour were out taking a casual look at her.

We finished up with cheesy chips and a beer in the Victoria before pootling home.

I don't think anyone will be able to top that. Probably.

We left Salcombe yesterday (Saturday) at about 14-30 and followed a BW of about yr size, was it you?

Also saw a very large pod of dolphins/porpoises off Prawle, probably the largest pod I've seen in 30 odd years. Spectacular.

And Caryali looks the business, looks much larger than 39m. I guessed, very incorrectly, that she was well over 200'. Absolutely magnificent looking vessel.

Hi LJS,

We weren't out on Saturday but it looks like you got the same experience we did. There were no other boats around and having our own private dolphin show was a real treat.

It's great to get this end of season weather.

Not sure if it was the same pod, but we were watching a pod of about 15, including some young, out in the bay between Torquay and Brixham yesterday late afternoon.

Most of the other boats had gone, and (It seemed) we had the whole bay to ourselves, as you say it was glorious weather and a superb end to the weekend!
