Yeah does sound a bit rough & I always note that on the 'up North' weather forecasts the temperature is nearly always several degrees lower.
I guess that is the price that you have to pay for such spectacular scenery & a deserted landscape.
Hopefully the temperature around here will rise above 25 degrees when something magical seems to happen.Sorry to rub it in.

I tend to agree that tomorrow's forecast is one of the best we have seen for ages in the South West. While my daughter complains that they've had so little rain in Norfolk that the grass on the farm is drying up we in the South West have had enough to refloat the Titanic, but tomorrow -
TOMORROW
It will be a largely dry day with scattered cloud and prolonged sunny spells. Feeling pleasant. Winds will be light northerly. Maximum temperature 21 °C

Glad the kids are back at school so that we oldies can enjoy it quietly

They have been saying on the local News here that the wind is from the North but the local coastal forecast is for East/North Easterly & it don't get much better than that.If only I had a lovely bird to go with me :(

Arrrrgggghhhh!!! Where is the N/E wind when you need it?

It used to be, you could depend on 1 or 2 days a week of easterly winds to chuck in the guestimate passage-planning for trips along the south coast. The last two years have seemed like non-stop SW winds. This year the crew mutinied and wouldn't let me put the wind on the nose for trips west of Plymouth to Fowey, Falmouth, Helford etc. So we chickened out and ran downwind to Dartmouth hoping it would turn east at some point for an easy sail back. Oh no it didn't!!!

Absolutely typical! ! ! just because I want to get to Mevagissey this weekend the timing could not be worse :( Looks like it will be a very long beat, the only plus being that the sun will shine for a change.
