The Mikomi 15" is definitely 12v, but the wharfedale I have no idea.

Most of the 15" I have looked at were 12 volt however as soon as you go a size up most seem to switch to 16v or above.

One wonders how sensitive these are to voltage as a boats system gets to 15 volts on charge.

There are DC to DC power supplies for things like this which give regulated outputs.

Every time I go into Curry's, Comet, or other TV outlets, the first thing I do when looking for a TV for the boat, is look at the power supply. They must look at me /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

No wonder caravan shops are selling "mobile" TV's at a premium price.

I'll keep on looking, as I've just found out from another source, that the input is 240 direct.

Thanks for your help.

btw, I know what you mean about the high DC voltage when charging, but I would only use the TV when the engine is stopped. If on shore power, I would use the 240.

Having no connection whatsoever with the Company, in my experience it was a good choice to get a 19' LCD TV DVD by Amstrad (Model LCT1907D). It runs on 12 volts and has an external 220/12 volts power supply; I coupled it with a Glomex masthead aerial.
