I am trying to find a Whale water pump for my boat the model no is a UP1215 but I am being told it is now obsolete and a google search keeps coming up with part no UF1215 but this looks different. I have sent Whale an email and I am waiting for there response but thought I would as on here to see if anyone knows where to get one from again I have tried the chandlers but have drawn a blank

They are interchangeable or easily adaptable within types (built-in pressure switch or not).

Depending on number of taps etc. different capacities may be used - your model is a Universal Pump, 12 ltr. capacity and 3 bar cutout pressure.

When my Flo-Jet committed suicide at the beginning of this season I replaced it by a
Whale UP1825 UNIVERSAL FRESH WATER PRESSURE PUMP 18 LTR (4.75 US GALLONS PER MINUTE) @ £ 119.99 + VAT from Marinescene.co.uk.

Same pressure, plug 'n play installation by combining existing and new parts, fitted in 15 minutes (awkward access :().

A bit noisy when it runs so make sure you get the rubber feet at the base in place to stop resonance.

Yes, I believe it is.

It really was very easy going from Flo-Jet to Whale and I can't imagine Whale-to-Whale would be any harder.

I'd give some thought upgrading, then place an order.

The tank (reservoir keeping an amount of water ready, under pressure) prevents repeated stop and starts when using water at less than full flow. Once you use full flow the tank pretty fast is emptied and the pump flow goes directly to the tap(s). Once the flow stops, the pump will run on for a moment to refill the tank, ready for next use.

If you feel a higher flow is wanted for showering, hosing down, simultaneous use of more taps or anything, the more powerful pump will help. If, on the other hand, you were happy with the old one, a new with same specs will do fine. Fittings are identical between the pumps.
