I drained my fresh water tank and have just refilled it. I find that the pump for the wash basin is pumping but the sink is only giving air. A bit strange as they are practically next to one another. Does the sink one need priming in some way.

Had a similar problem some years back so the details are a bit vague. When I over filled a tank the pressure popped one of the hoses on one pump. That made the other pump suck air.

Diaphragm pumps as far as I know which should be self priming.

Maybe some debris in one of its little valves. Maybe a flush through will dislodge something. Maybe dismantling and cleaning will do the trick.

We used to get no water flow with the sink freshwater foot pump if we hadn't used it for a while. Before taking it apart what I did was tape a plastic tube to the outlet, to seal it, then suck until water comes through then the pump may well work. If not, as said, take it apart.
