Whale hitting yacht VIDEO

How'd you do that

YBW forums have been set to display youtube vids.

Find the code for the clip you want to display in the url:

In the case of the video you linked to the url is:

youtube.com/watch?v=aa7vZUbsT_4&feature=player_embedded

and you need the video code, which is:

aa7vZUbsT_4

When making a post type youtube][/youtube and place the code between the two inner brackets.

EDIT. Oh dear when I posted my reply it displayed a blank space where the video should be, so I have taken out the first and last square bracket.

Bascially you need [] and [] around YOUTUBE and /YOUTUBE...I'll demostrate using squiggly brackets - dear me this is becoming difficult.

{YOUTUBE}aa7vZUbsT_4{/YOUTUBE}

For those in peril on the sea?

I had seen this on the news but not found the YouTube version with its sound track.

What baffles me is the reaction of those on the camera boat, laughing and then going away. I would have thought that most of us would head to the scene of the accident to see if we could offer assistance. There is a suggestion on YouTube that it was too dangerous for them to approach but that still does not excuse the apparent lack of concern.

I thought that too, didn't seem too concerned to check that the crew of the yacht were ok / not sinking etc...

I had a big one surface alongside me mid-way between Nice and Corsica. Sobering experience. The same day, one of the big ferries came into Calvi with its stern gear damaged by a whale. I hadn't even realised there were whales there.

Just imagine the conversation in the marina bar that evening...

"Did you see any Dolphins on the way over?"

"Nope, but we did see a whale." ;)

"How big was it?"

"Oh, about 40 tons and 50 feet long." :)

"How far away was it?"

"Oh, I'd say up close and personal, wouldn't you Jack?"

:D

I wonder what what they put on the claim form;)

Great video though, I wounder how often this happens. Surely there must have been something wrong with the whale.

have seen the pics before, but until this morning hadn't heard the audio. Can't believe anybody would laugh at a scene like that, someone may have been crushed on the deck.

I thought - rightly or wrongly - the camera boat may have been some kind of 'trip' boat, i.e. those commenting/laughing were possibly tourists/paying passengers?

Curious that the video seems to improve dramatically (no shake) just at the point of impact and after.
