Wh do we go sailing2

Plan was to go to Lymington, engine overheated in Portsmouth harbour entrance, had to sail back in escorted by the safety boat (thanks) then a tow up the harbour by another Prout , Cat a Tonic ( many thanks) fixed the engine, bunged up water intake but by then too late to go anywhere, so, had a good night on board being thrashed at draughts by my daughter, then wife was sick all night with a migraine, so we gave up Sunday midday and came home, looking at the weather today that was the best decision all weekend! Several years ao I promised ourselves we would not go away on a Bank Holiday again,Too much traffic , too crowded and too much hassle, so I only have myself to blame. But there's always next week!!! Probably a silly question, but why turn back just 'cos the engine overheats? The engine is only for auxhilary power, after all and you were never going to run out of wind this weekend.

Sorry if it seems like I'm picking holes, I just wondered.

Hard luck for the weekends problems, and don't plan too much for next weekend. For us it looks like we may get a pasting but for the Solent it may only be fives and sixes but its not looking too great.

Having said that it is still a long way off in weather forecasting terms.
