I asked this question and did not get a reply so I went to weymouth and had a look. I have photos of the bridge and close up photos of the height marker thingy. Not on this computer though, on the one at home. Let me know if you want me to email them to you.

the bridge is not that high but it does open regularly....

Ohh, I don't think that you've as much as that. I go under it fairly often when going fishing on a charterboat. To get under the guy has to hinge down his radar gantry. I'd guess 4m max, prob a bit less.
It does, however, go up and down every two(?) hours certainly it is opens at 8am and 4pm.
