A couple of us are going to visit one of the oil tankers we bareboat charter tomorrow as she is at Portland having a survey done. I'm looking for a recommendation for a place to have a late lunch in the area (so thinking Weymouth) - gastro pub type thing but welcome any suggestions.

Thanks
Jon.

PS in case you are interested she is a 50,000t products tanker called the Star Osprey - this type of ship (an "MR" tanker) typically carries gasoline or diesel in the Atlantic Basin but can also carry vegetable oils (originating in Asia):

if you want a better class pub then go to the ship or vaughans on the harbour front their is also Floods seafood restaurant a bit firther down all of these are on the harbour front on the road called custom house quay

Their is also the rendavous next to the bridge but this is a cheaper place not so high end more a pub grub special sort of place

if you fancy a carvery go to dorothey's on the sea front looking over the bay cheap and cheer full £5.95 a head I think nice food though

you should be able to park on the harbour front this time of year no problem but I think you only get an hour check the signs if not there is a car park under the bridge on commercial road pay and display couple of minute walk from these pubs

cheers shawn
