Can anyone enlighten me as to who makes the Wetline range of inflatables?

Are they a good quality manufacture - perhaps a major selling off over capacity / more of a budget range.

There seem to be a fair smattering for sale around at the moment which smacks of an unsatisfactory product, or it could be that there are just a large number made.

Any thoughts, chaps??

Previous boat had wetline and lasted so well on charter market for 3 years I wanted same on new boat. I believe most are made in Korea. I would recommend paying extra for inflatible floor.

I don't know where they are made but they are distributed in the UK by the very reputable Burden Group, a member of the Unipart Group. The specs on them look good, if you want a pvc dinghy: Duratex 1000 pvc, Halkey Roberts valves. Wetline Marine and Leisure make a host of products including inflatables, waterski's, towables of all sorts, ski ropes, vests, navigation and cabin lights, switches and panels and other chandlery items. I wouldn't worry about them being a fly-by-night outfit!

MBM have tested 11 inflatables this month and there are better craft available according to MBM

Wetline only 3/5 Lodestar got 5/5

cheers Joe

We bought a a 230RT about 2 years ago, and the only duff quality piece is the carrying bag, and the outboard bracket which goes rusty as its only painted. The craft itself is small but good for us 2 in a back and forth to the shore in reasonable conditions kind of way. The bag was replaced instantly, and the seam tear has not reoccurred so I presume a one off.
On the whole, I got a good deal from Mailspeed with a Honda BF2.3 outboard, so no complaints.

Thats because the item was underpowered with that engine. Not a brilliant test IMHO as it was short of the main category Value For Money. And to give a dinghy a good report but mark it down as it would be better with a bigger engine was a bit poor.

To many people take these articles for real and in some instances the Journalist writing the report actually has no real understanding of the subject matter and it is only their opinion but people seem to take it as gospel.

The Wetline is a good dinghy and will last well if looked after. Mine lasted for 5 years and I used to go fishing and exploring caves in Sark with it. It did not get serviced or cleaned that much either and could have done with some proper tlc to make it last longer.
