My liferaft is now 20 years old - the real costs occur when you need to replace all the med & water packs inside, otherwise duing that time it's had two patches both close to the CO2 bottle.
However buying a new liferaft to avoid a "big" service doesn't make much sense.
In fact, in the Med, having a liferaft makes little sense.
