I'm looking at buying an inflatable dinghy and have heard good reviews about the the Wetline 230. Having done an internet search, it appears that I can buy this product between
£320 (marinemegastore - and probably wouldn't use) & £650 (world of camping). This does seem to be quite a large price range.

Any thoughts on the Wetline (other than what's in the archives) and any opinions on the Plastimo 220 as an alternative?

Ive had two - one a small rib and also a fold up, personally I found that the tubes degraded pretty quick in the suns UV so make sure they are covered up, the paint comes off the transom out board plate pretty quickly as mentioned.

The oars broke several times either at the holes for the rowlock or at the detent hole for the locking pin ( folding oar) and it wasnt easy to row as the angles were all wrong

The seating attachments are pretty flimsy as well and didnt last to long

apart from that ..........

Have a look at 3D Tenders - in the same price range, nicely built and much lighter than almost everything else. We recently bought a 230 to replace our old tender of a similar size - it is about half the weight. The old tender hardly ever got used because it was so difficult to move, launch and recover - the 3D is so light I can launch it on my own by hand.

I’d also look at the Seago range at Force 4 we bought the Airdeck 2.7 3 years ago and have been very happy with it, taken all the abuse that the kids could throw at it with no problems, as others have said the paint comes off the outboard plate quickly but a bit hammerite sorts this out (seems to be a common problem with tenders at the lower end of the price range)

May be worth giving Marinescene in Cardiff a ring.

That's a very helpful post, thank you. I'd not heard of them before but their 200 dinghy weighs 12Kg. That's a massive reduction from the 20Kg I was fearing. Just need to save up my pennies as they cost a bit more than I was anticipating paying.

Check with Gillingham Chandlery - they were offering some useful discounts - we got our 230 at the list price of the 200.

I've just bought a Seago 230 round tail, the last bit being crucial to stowage on my boat; a hard transom dinghy the same size simply wouldn't fit, and weight is important too.

I've been checking around for a while, and reckon £360 from Force 4 for a round tail air deck, and proper rowlocks etc, is very good.

No connection.
