Wetbikes, again!

Went out on Bank Holiday Monday, and encountered the usual flock of wetbikes - well out to sea, nowhere near the swimming areas, and clear of the lobster pots and main channel! They hung around a bit until we adjusted the trim to leave a huge wake and went round in circles, whereupon they flocked towards us.

We did this for about 10 or 15 minutes, churning up the water, running off a cable or two, waiting for them, churning it up again etc.

All they did was wave and smile. Not one of them invited us aboard for a drink! No wonder they have such a dreadful reputation.

On another note, we met one last year on Studland - turned out to be Shelley Jury (offshore powerboat racer, and almost killed in the recent Cowes-Torquay) - she was kind enough to take our eldest for a thrash. Glad she (Shelley) survived OK...

Just had a drink with Shelley(by the way its "Jory), she's fine but looking for sponsorship to help rebuild her boat - V-8. The damage is estimated at about £20k. Shelley is the only women racing in the V24 series and is currently in the lead of the nationals despite her and Gavin's mishap 200 metres from the finish line after the ROI race. Both ITV and BBC are covering her progress to be ready for the Portsmouth race on 24th September and it is a race against time!. She then hopes to go to Key West in the US to compete there at the end of the year.Am I involved? Yes! If anybody wants to promote their company with (almost) guranteed TV coverage please contact me via a PM or call me on 0870 080 1720.
