Wet 'n' Dry - or Random Orbital Sander

If filler is very bad and high use a RO.

Once reasonable and just high use W& D. Start with 150 grade with intention of each grade just taking off a little more than the depth of the scratch from the coarser grade.

I would go in steps of 150, 320, 400, 600, 800 then finally 1200 rubbed with soap. After that I would use rubbing compound and polish. This is the way I repaired GRP cars. You can take shortcuts if you don't want the finish to be invisible and not as good as an automobile finish.

Thanks.
Filler IS bad n high at the moment, but it is sanding down ok. I'll probably finish off with Wet n Dry, but as stated above, the boat is not a priceless piece of art, so a dose of reality and common sense will no doubt prevail !
