1/ The only way to find out is to strip it. Could be lucky.

2/ You can't leave us hanging like that, there must be a good story?

yea, I can hardly believe it either.
She was left in the yard for a number of years and we are assuming that the teak deck leaked and the boat filled with water over that period.
Now nearly dried out , but the fittings and everything inside is a right off, any info on what to do with the deck would be appreciated. we are going to put her right but have very little practical knowledge on how to do it, but she is a classic looker.

On a Positive Note

Type and age of engine must be taken into consideration.
Old engines of any type might not be worth rescuing - mainly due to availability of parts.

Shall be selling my Volvo MDIIC 23 hp later this season. Re-built recently and, joy of all joys, fresh water cooled (the magic elixir that makes even a Volvo last forever (barring immersion of course). Must be a much cheaper option than any attempt to resuscitate your drowned lump. Interested? - come back to me.

I hope price was right ....

Engine ..... ?? could be 2 - 3K to put right, my trusty Perkins went 1/2 under ... no water in sump etc. checked OK etc. - lasted 2 weeks - seized not to run again.
Maybe classic - but your details are sparse to advise ....

<hr width=100% size=1>Nigel ... and of course Yahoo groups :
