I applied Patio Magic a week ago. The previous treatment was a little over a year ago and only small amount of green had started to develop recently.
The weather and the surface to be treated needs to be dry so the product dries off on the surface.
Results may not be instant but should be long lasting
I used a garden sprayer.

Used Patio Magic to remove the tiny black algae spots on glass fibre gel especially in the moulded non slip bits. Apply with bucket and brush allow to dry .
Allow rain to wash off.Cheapest at Wilko or Wickes at the time.
At £8 per 2.5L was more than sufficent for 35 foot boat.

I use patio magic on my canvas canopy, so far so good very little crud a year on and no harm to the canvas, I use it at 4:1 with water onto dry canvas and allow to dry.
Now I just need a tin of it on a rotating arm to club the birds that crap on it, can't stop them......
I'll be doing it again this year for sure.

I use wet and forget on my canvas to rid me of black mould. It's a long term approach as it kills slowly and prevents recurrence but it works without ill effect. I can recommend.

Thanks Bruce..... I have just ordered a pot of Patio Magic as it was available in 2.5 l and £5.99 from Amazon.... Reading the specs I think PM and WNF seem to be the same thing

May well be, I just know wet and forget as it is quite popular up here in one marina close by that is in tree lined shade and suffers from mould issues.

+1 for Wet & Forget. Works well. Not sure if it work on grp as I would have thought it would just wash off. With canvas it grips on to the fabric for what of a better description.

Applied/threw on Patio Magic to both the tread deck and sprayhood Applied neat with a drop of water to thin it out a little, soft brush to work in to a foam. Left it on the tread deck for the rain to wash off. Has come up pretty well after 2 weeks. Just the dead remnants of Lichen remaining. Sprayhood left over night to dry then packed up and put in to the attic. Much less green. Will throw another load of PM on to the deck prior to launch in the spring.

another +1 for Patio Magic. It works fine on spray and sailbag. Much easier to apply with a brush rather than blowing around into the water, given its toxicity for fish. It works well on fibreglass too. Follow the instructions.

As already noted, Patio Magic/Boracol/any of the other similar fungicides is very effective and quite harmless to the structure of the boat including canvas. It is very toxic to quite a lot of marine life until it has dried out and had a chance to weather a bit, so please use it responsibly. Apply with care to avoid run-off - splashing it around is pretty irresponsible. Best to apply it with a brush - if using a spray, avoid windy weather when it could be carried in the air. Also avoid periods when rain is forecast - it needs to have time to dry out and deactivate in the sun.

The toxicity is specific to marine life - it is harmless to humans unless the concentration is high - you will find the active ingredient in a variety of cosmetics and medications as a preservative.

+1 For Patio Magic. When we bought our Trader earlier this year, all the canvas, of which there is a lot as the flybridge can be fully enclosed, was really green.

I removed it all and took it home for a clean. I used PM 50/50 having wet the canvas first, then used a broom to work it all in and a gentle going over with the pressure washer. All the panels came up OK and I rigged a long mooring line between two trees to hang them on in the sun to dry.

They have stayed clean all summer and will get another treatment at home during some good spring weather.

I also used it on the teak with very good results.
