Re: Westline - question for Jez

Have you seen the interior in the flesh? I have to say it looks a bit Ikea in that photo, thin door fronts, exposed hinges, shapeless bench seat and uncovered GRP will not have it competing with Windy as the article suggests. If its prototype, unfinished or something then i'd wait to get better photos before sending them as promo stuff to magazines.

Re: Westline - question for Jez

The pictures were taken in production. There are some issues we are addressing for full production, such as the cabinet fronts in the head. The joinery is nice and solid in the flesh - solid wood rather than faced ply.

The Windy reference really refers to the performace of the hull, but it isn't clear.

Is that hull safe with that many port holes down the side (look like perferations) , is is possible to tear the hull off to antifoul /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Westline - question for Jez

Ditto agree, boat exterior does look good despite the number of portholes but the interior lets it down a bit imho. The woodwork is a bot diy/kit boatish.

Re: Westline - question for Jez

had to go back to the advert to find the reference, but this might be the longest sentence in a boating brochure, ever!:

As with boats from Aquador, Nimbus and Windy, Westline boats have all the traditional hallmarks of a Scandinavian designed sports boat - excellent build quality, solid and secure design and a deep-vee (24 degree) hull that will take whatever the harsh coastal waters of Sweden can throw at it in its stride.

I think there is a reason Windy,Nimbus and Aquador all use blue upholstery..
