westerly pembroke

Might sell, maybe even for a fraction more, around Scotland or Wales where there's plenty of inexpensive deep water, but you couldn't pay someone to take it in the Solent area; sad as I'm sure the boat has a lot of fun to offer.

Some recent Centaurs sold in Scotland
1979 old engine. Started at 12k ended up selling for about. 6.5k.
1977 old engine. Started at 10k ended up selling under 6.5k

the market will decide

I am starting at £10K and reducing the price by £100 a week from Jan 1 - dutch auction

it should be interesting

do you fancy predicting a price for Harmony?

I suspect the majority of boats in the Solent will have a deeper keel than this boat or do you know something we don't?

I think the price more reflects that the Centaur with Volvo MD2B/llC is a 6 to 7k problem not far round the corner.

Na, the bigger problem is demand; i know of one Centaur in the last week thats sold that was re-engined with a Beta 5 years back that hasn't made the figures mentioned above, plus the fact if you go on Yachtworld.com right this minute you can see many a Longbows & Berwicks for between £8 - £12K and the odd dreamer asking £20k

Dylans boat, £4k......... tops, hope to be proved wrong and may well be as its not being sold on the south coast.

I got mine for 5k. Nearly new spars and rigging with a very fresh set of sails. Old donk and it's been left for 3 or more years on the hard. Minor water damage around the companion way, dropped headlining and a few seized valves. Original asking price was over 11k, was dropped to 8.5 by the time I had a look.

I reckon around 4 to 6k for you Dylan so could take a year to sell... that's if you keep it clean and dry. If the boat goes green or damp it'll depreciate as fast as the £100 per week. Hope to be proved wrong! I want to see the value climb now I have one!
