Westerly paint job - bloody nora

WTF !!!!!!! Just had a browse through the other pictures & it appears he's turned it into a powerboat, I'll reserve judgement now.

Definately makes a forty year old pageant look fresh and an interesting answer to a dead inboard too although not entirely sure about the cockpit seats, very inspiring.

I agree about the solution to a dead inboard

as for the seats

on the slug you could not see over the cabin from sitting in the cockpit and there were no cockpit storage spaces so I made a couple of boxes for the stern

it was a wonderful place to sit while sailing in light airs or downwind

all round I think he has done a wonderful job

I can't quite work out the rudder arrangement

Yes forward seated visibility is always a compromise on these designs but you can't beat that fortress feeling when the wind gets up. With regard to the rudder i can only assume the blade would clash with the leg if sited on the same line with the well offset. The only problem i can see is the steering may be adversely affected by having so much disturbed water right in front of the rudder blade when the outboard is on but its still great looking boat though

cheers roger
