18 years ago I lost my rig due to a fatigue failure of the U-bolt to which the port cap shroud was attached. It was quite a beefy U-bolt and a surveyor had judged it to be adequate without bending it to align it with the shroud. After the failure I did some very rough stress calculations and demonstrated that mis-aligned U-bolts are to be avoided.
The legal costs of this incident almost certainly exceeded the cost of the new mast and rigging: fortunately it was my insurance company that was paying!

That is the right sort of fitting, but suspect that the spacing of the legs will be different from the holes in the boat and the originals were custom made.
