Westerley Storm 33 or Bene 331

The Storm is as roomy if not roomier than the Sadler 34, the cockpit is also large, if a bit shallow. The speed and sailing performance is fantastic. I bought one last year on impulse. I did post on here my concerns about the engine, but I need not have worried the 2002 pushes it along at over 6 knots at 2000 revs. Both Sailing Today and Yachting monthly have done recent reports on them, well worth reading.

Totally agree.
Owned my Storm for 3 years now and wouldn't change her for the World. Although I have the Volvo MD2020 (18hp) I have no concerns about the power of this engine.
As for sailing capabilities, she laps up a chop and always feels solid and reliable. None of his "stop/start" business as can be found on some newer (lighter) boats when heading into the weather.
Plenty storage (4 levels on port and starboard side).

Great ideas folks, thank you and lots of food for thought. Need to get on board now and see what they are like in the flesh. A busy Saturday ahead.
The Storm I have seen is a wheel steer, teak decks, AIS plotter, heating, hot and cold water etc a well prep'd boat so it will be down to does it fit the family.

The Storm is a much older boat than the 331 and will have associated costs involved if not already updated.

Of the two it is down to matter of personal choice imho - try both out
