West wight potter

While looking for my fist boat, and getting lots of advice in the yachting scuttlebutt section, I have come across a west wight potter for sale by a boat builder. Needs a little bit of work done but he is willing to do it before selling. This type was mentioned by Dylan winter as being blooming brilliant, anyone here own or had one ?
What are they like to sail and sleep aboard? Good sea boats? Would you be happy to take one out in the Irish Sea or North Sea?

THE WW potter is very much a dingy with a lid on and this is both good and bad, perfect if you live near the lakes as it can be trailed and launched with little hassle. Buts it also fairly light, fine for a bit of a sail about on a sheltered coast in the right weather but not really something you could call a sea boat. in general these little trailer sailers are described as 2 or 4 berth but is assuming your a family of midgets i'm sure 1 or 2 people could squeeze in for a couple of nights. They are well used by the folks of the Dinghy cruising assoc'

i would suggest the problem with little boats like this is people (me) buy them with an idea of doing things you can do in a big boat. The trick to enjoying them is to do the things you can't do in a big boat. You might want to repost in one of the other fora you'll not get much response in this bit
