Went to pub last night...

and got into deep and meaningful conversation about selling up to go cruising. Questions:

1) what's the minimum budget needed to get by on for say, a one year North Atlantic circuit taking in Med, Canaries, ARC, Caribbean, Bermuda, Azores etc

2) two couples, one AWB, minimum length of boat required for reasonable comfort, stowage and load capacity??

how long is a piece of string?

as a guesstimate i'd bid 20-25k. that would let you spend some time in marinas, eat ashore once a week, hire cars and taxis to tour the islands and do the touris thing.

you could get by on half that by avoiding the frills or double if you do it in style.

for a couple. More if your in "civilization" were harbour authorities tap you up and flesh pots abound less if your anchoring in the wild and living off ships stores.

Two couples need at least 40ft of AWB if they're friends. 50ft if they're relatives.
