and overall found it to be good! I must record that I was one who was not really looking forward to it .... but it was good.
Biggest problem is trying to find everything when so used to Earls Court ... but persevere, it's still all there and some more .... not necessarily of interest to me, but maybe to others. I think there were as many yachts, more 'Seekers, Bayliners, etc.[ Ben/jen range seems bigger than ever]. Outside berths worth a visit, but Bayliners big Advert covering direction sign ... go in behind .... the entrance is there.
Food and Drink at normal ludicrous prices ... so nothings changed ther then .... there are more of them, to be fair.
Also booked a trial sail in something nice .....
Travel .... Train to Marylebone, from Banbury, walk to Baker St, U/groung to Canning Town, DLR to Show. 2.5 hrs there, 2.5 hrs back ... £52 approx.
Enjoy it!!

Going wednesday, same journey as you, wasn't looking forward to Excel, but we'll see.

Glad you enjoyed it, the Try a Boat trips... worth a go or not ?

Essex boat show....

If you are coming into Marylebone, does your train intercept the North London Line anywhere? if so change on to it and get off at Custom House which is Excel's own station.

Re: Essex boat show....

Hi, don't think so, coming in from the West side "eye" have to get off at Mbone and hop on Jubilee or use Central line from Ruisilp and catch DLR at Bank.

Wanted to have a swift half or two at the MBM lunch so was planning on using public transport all the way - god help me /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I had a fantastic day out and enjoyed it more than the Earl's Court venue. I got autographs from the olympic medallists "for the kids" and managed to see all the technical experts I needed to. But the food was expensive, must be the cost of the fantastic views from the cafe! Definitely reccommended.
