Went mildly crazy, bought a Prelude

Thanks for the warnings and advice folks. The boat's a swing keeler, which I guess is going to be of some help in the creek. I guess some other things that might help will be keeping unnecessary clobber down to a minimum.

That's an interesting point about the tiller and rudder... I'll certainly look out for it.

And hi Howard - it's great to come across a familiar name!

I bought my little tub from down there and collected her from the Creek. It took a long time to get rid of the mud! It's a facinating place especially when visited for the first time. Where 'Scruffy' was berthed I only had a bit less than an hour to get her onto a trailer and had to wait for a spring tide to do it even having dug out a trench at the bottom of the slip to drop the trailer wheels into to get enough clearance to float her on. Oh what fun!

I'd like to add more to my CV but can't figure out how to do it at present... I guess there will be a link at the homepage when I next pass by.

I guess the mud down at Oare will be a constant source of entertainment :-)

And our Prelude is currently called Gin Grin, but will shortly become Schottische - altogether more becoming, I think, and absolutely in keeping with the kind of music frequently heard in my house! We're planning to tow the boat down on Sunday, and may even get around to starting the antifouling, if the weather's fine, dry and not too chilly Come by and say hello some time!
