Well as you brought it up. How do you know it is shallow?

Thanks to Dad we found out it is too shallow in the channel at LW for a dinghy!!

We are hopefully calling back into Wells again on our way back from the Broads next month. Also going to use it as a bolthole if the weather/sea state aint great for making it to Southwold.

Have you been to Southwold before? Not the best of moorings for a pretty boat like yours!

We havent but Dad has been many many times before. They used to moor at Lowestoft so its their old back yard. We have seen the moorings though so are aware that they aint the greatest. We aim to let dad moor up and we will raft alongside them, well thats the plan but it rarely, if ever turns out that way

It was a great holiday and one we really enjoyed but it was just the warm up run for the next holiday in a couple of weeks. Norfolk Broads (and Southwold) here we come

Did similar to that last year, missed out on southwold due to a duff weather forecast but managed to do all the others in between lowestoft and walton, even managed to get a pint at snape maltings before beating a hasty retreat through the withies before running out of water, plan on doing it again next year.
Aiming for the witham & trent in a couple of weeks, got to keep these old ladies working for their keep!

Great. The engine on my boat is fine, it was recently rebuilt at massive expense. I think I'd need to clean the fuel tank before any trips to sea as no doubt it's full of 40 year old muck.

My tanks are still full of 60 year old muck. I'm looking for a tank cleaning partner to get the cost down to £150 each. So.... Anyone in Doncaster??

Will keep an eye out for you as we will be heading the opposite way in a couple of weeks. Beware the Witham weed at the minute. Its making for hard work. Stopped us in our tracks on Saturday!!
