Not to drift fred (MkI). Here is my grumble: my boots rubber keeps perishing very fast: the GUL boots I bought last year are already giving signs of cracking. The Gill ones lasted three years before getting holes in them. Any idea what might be happening?

When not in use they are kept in the loft.

Change your socks more often?

My boots have lasted years and years. Colour is out of fashion, so got some new ones, but they are alright in the dark /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I can ensure you that it is not the fresh aroma that emanates from my wellies that is the problem /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I can dare you to a sniffing competition....

more seriously. It is the rubber outer "casing" that seems to perish, leaving cracks that eventually leak the briny
