Well done that girl

There aren't too many people I've met who are truly inspirational to me, but Hilary is one of them.

She made me realise how much I take for granted, and how vulnerable we all are. Especially when she got an disease that slowly took away all her mobility bit by bit.

Sailing around Britain not able to move from her neck down, being able to only suck and puff on a tube, is amazing. Doing it without all the hype and publicity of a lot of other challenges, makes her achievement all the more worthy.

Oh that's just filled my eyes with tears. That's true courage and determination. The next time, someone (or myself) grumbles about a job being difficult, I'll try and recall this as a powerful example of what's a real challenge.

There should be a Rudyard Kipling Memorial Prize for the persons who most live the spirit of his "IF" poem. Hilary Lister would be a very worthy recipient.

as in any major achievement of this nature, there is a highly-motivated team of supports, sponsors, and go-fors behind an equally motivated person. All these plaudits should include them as well.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. And don't let's get into into that British propensity to start comparing her achievement with Ellen or Dee or the lad that's just circumnavigated, and assigning relative 'merit scores'. Well done all of them. Puts the rest of our pathetic puny efforts in the shade.

had the pleasure of meeting Hilary when she sailed into Arklow... and thereafter sailing in company with my sea scout crew to Wicklow

The Sea Scouts were truly amazed by her stamina, believe Hilary has left a mark on their souls

Well done
