Welcome to the Med

In Porto Vecchio, after being stuck in Sardinia for a week with strong winds, and now we can´t continue because of another Mistral coming in. It´s drizzling, and I´m about to put on the heating. Water temp is 16 degrees.

But the Maddalenas in May were great - no motorboats, and most of the yachts were actually sailing. Restaurants mostly open, serving lovely food at reasonable prices. And Sardinian esparagus is worth the journey by itself!

We spent nigh on 3 months at anchor in northern Sardinia last summer; stunningly beautiful and stunningly windy - a mistral usually twice a week, on occasions too windy to go ashore. Not good with guests on board! Eating out was a pleasure and I absolutely loved the delis.

Heating on in Mallorca, it can only get better :)

It has rained all day in Almirimar.. high winds, heating on.
Good news its cheap and we can walk ashore.
Bad news is its too windy, wet and cold to bother.
I thought they had a micro climate here making it warm and the Spagetti westerns were filmed here.
Yesterday we got a good suntan.

At least it's warm down here on Crete. 25deg C but very humid (60%) so it's not that nice - the grockles are happy enough though. It will probably get close to 30deg C in the afternoon, it did the last few days. Lots of high thin cloud too so it will be a hot night probably. It's very un-Mayish.

Took us nearly six hours today to beat from Marbella to La Duquesa on the Costa Del not flipping very Sol.

Mind you, the fish and chips was worth it......

Here in Ios harbour the wind has maxed out at 23 knts this morning. The predicted high winds didn't materialise. Temp is a lowly 24 Deg this morning. quite Swelly out to sea. Water temp 20 Deg

I don't know where you are in Ios harbour this morning, but out on the finger quay i recorded 23 kts as well! I note that the 13.55 ferry has been cancelled thank goodness,as the one yesterday evening caused a bit of damage to a boat next door, nothing serious though.
Forecast for tomorrow is much better, dropping to the teens.

Lesvos. Blew southerly force 7-8 most of yesterday, SW somewhere around 6-7 today. We are in the western inland sea so it's probably worse outside. Glad we got out of Plomarion when we did, almost completely open to the south for visitors.

Diesel here in Italy (Naples) is around the 1.60 - 1.70 Euro per litre mark, although a little cheaper the further North you go.

This is normally a little higher in Marinas, although you already knew that...
