Last seen on the non tidal in 2003 I think - a long time ago, anyway, when he and Joanne took their previous boat down to the Solent. Some of us here remember assisting them through Chertsey lock.
I'll leave Nick to tell you what he's been and gone and done.....

You mean he dragged himself away from Cliveden?

Thank you for piping us back aboard Tony.

It feels good to be back on the water again after a long absence and we have come full circle being back on the Thames at Bray, this time with a Freeman 23. We bought her last Tuesday and are looking forward to being back on the river and cant wait to get out on it.

It's also good to be back on here again as I remember this forum to be fun and helpful.

Thank you Pat. We are very pleased and excited to own a Freeman 23 having always wanted one. It fits our needs now really nicely and I look forward to getting out.

I am enjoying the Freeman Owners Forum (If I'm allowed to say so on here) and I have a few Freeman questions brewing....:)

I doubt there's any competition between the two ;) and YWB is linked.

Its a shame you missed our gathering at Ashmount (South Stoke) keep it in your diary for next year though, as we've been invited back :)

That's nice and we were at Sheridan that Sunday morning. That's where we found out about our boat being up for sale and we bought her the following Tuesday so just missed being able to attend. We met a charming man at Sheridan who had recently bought a F23 hard top and he was good enough to show us his lovely boat - he was part of the meet and popped down for some bits I think.

We ideally wanted a diesel and found one which had been re engined with a Ford engine and only has had two previous owners for the last 30 odd years.

Thanks for the invite and it's something that we would like to try to make next year.

Ah, Huntress :)
You could have come round anyway, we had a few crews without boats ;)

Sounds like a good find, I've seen a few pictures of her, she looks like a nice boat

Thanks and she seems to have been well looked after so a good start for us. I was looking at photos on the Freeman forum of your boat and she looks absolutely superb and is a great inspiration!

Thanks :)

TBH I have a lot of catching up to do, the day job doesn't give me much time in the winter, in the summer given the choice of the job list or getting out on the river, we choose the river.

Good to see Nic and Mrs Nic out on Trump today. And by coincidence, that former Trump owner and long serving lock keeper Lord Gibson of Boveney on his new boat. Even Ralph from Boulters was spotted in a skiff on the Cliveden Reach with a lady crew!

Thanks and it was lovely to meet you and Mrs Old Crusty (who didn't seem remotely old or crusty).

We had a wonderful day on our 'new' boat. It was very sociable day and everyone we met was very friendly which helped make our first proper day back on the river a great success.
