Looks as though you are trying to catch up!!
Could do with a little good old fashioned sarcasm and wit for a change, from a fellow old fart!
At Sonning yesterday and the river was as high as I have seen it for a while. More so than last May when we were trying to get away to Holland.
We are returning to Holland late April, where the boat will be returned to the water after a very comfortable winter in a heated dry boatshed.
New grandchild due mid May, so wife wants to be home for May, in case assistance required.
June we shall head into the SE corner of Holland, near the German and Belgium borders, on the recommendation of friends, prior to returning to Broom for a few spruce up jobs that were hugely more expensive to have done in Holland. Weak pound is the problem.
Back end of July and August, we intend dribbling back along the Suffolk/ Essex coast/ rivers (+ a day or 2 on the Broads), finishing in Docklands for the ATYC Rally over the August Bank Holiday.
Then back up the river to Sonning, assuming EA have regained control of the river by then!
Must check to see what "extortion" I shall have to pay for 1 trip up the navigable river.
Do they still give discounts for licences taken out after a certain date?
