Having used both Mscan meteo and JVC wefax programms successfully I have just changed laptop which now uses Windows XP previously used Windows NT. I can no longer get an image I have tried slant correction and verrified all previous setting to no avail. All I get is a fuzzy grey picture with the demo (JVC) over print the signal is there because I can see it in the spectrum window. Does anyone know of compatability issues or got any ideas to point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Is it picking -up *anything* from the soundcard? ie if you unplug sound in, does the picture/spectrum profile change ?

If not, check:
that there is a functioning soundcard installed
That the programme is looking at the right soundcard
That you have plugged the sound input into the right hole (sorry, but it has happened)

Thanks for the reply, its plugged into mic. in and on disconnect the spectrum dissapears so itr would appear that the sound card is doing its job as is the reciever its just the bits after anyone any more ideas? Help.

Are you getting enough gain from the soundcard...ie when RXing a wefax signal does the audio bar in JVcomm turn green or red??
If not then you may need to adjust your windows sound settings...either accesssed from the control panel or the speaker icon on the bottom right menu bar.
I have one laptop that refuses to run JVcomm 'cos I just cant get enough beef out of the thing.
SiS Chipsets are particularly prone to this and there is no answer unfortunately.

Steve.

Yes I have tried adjusting the audio input and outputs and run the programme in both conditions ie with the audio bar showing green and red, from memory the signal shown seems to be a bit broader than previous, which my memory says was quite narrow, however the reciever has not changed and the only thing that has is the laptop.
