.. its going to be fine as I've no chance of being back on the water .... off centre holes in the stock and trying to fit a parallel quadrant to a tapered stock that ain't been machined parallel has put paid to any chances of that .. so enjoy the weather guys .. I'm now getting so sick of the whole saga I'm thinking of giving up completely and just chartering occasionally.

Beached whale found in Hythe ...

... wearing a hat resembling a deid sheep, the mammal was attended to by a group of local louts who revived it by pouring whisky over the carcass ....

My sympathies will not mean a lot, but is all I can offer other than some time on the water if you are really depressed.

Cheer up Jimi

It will all seem different when you get it fixed and get back out there.

My season got off to a bad start when my trailer axle broke as I brought the boat out of the boat store. It was about fifty yards to the water, so by sheer brute force (Landrover S3) I dragged her down onto the beach and waited til the tide floated her off. While waiting I raised the mast but was starting to get very tired.

Anyway high tide was at 2am and she floated off and I picked up my mooring then feeling exhausted it was off home for a wee sensation in celebration.

Got a call from one of the club members the next morning to tell me my mast had come down and was nearly over the side. Turns out that I hadn't tightened the forestay lock nuts. Still I was very luck that the mast didn't break. Also managed to catch my finger in the outboard bracket raising mechanism whilst recovering the mast and nearly took the top off my finger.

At this point I wondered why I bothered and thought of taking up flower arranging

Still, I persevered and eventually got it all fixed and have now had a few good days with hopefully many more to come.

Stick in there and in a few weeks it will all be forgotten

Regards
Cameron

I think you will find some reason to do abit of "gloating" over the weekend. I realise that I'm not a meterologisisisist, but from the way that big system is developing this morning, the solent and surrounding areas could be very very wet, and could be blummin windy an all.

We have not made any plans at all for this weekend as its so unpredictable, we're just going to wait and see. My gut feeling is that I'm going to be doing electrics and interior work...

Is yours a production yacht? or has it been butchered by so called professionals since it left its maker.
