WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
==========================
Issued: 0900 Friday 27th April 2007

SATURDAY ( see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn601.png and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+60.gif )
High pressure centred close to the Shetland Islands through Saturday. An east to northeast flow extends through much of the country as a deep layer of dry air spreads westwards through most of England and Wales. There will be a weak warm front over western Scotland, with a showery trough off southern Ireland in the morning, this moving west.
There will be plenty of sunshine through much of England and Wales this morning. Thicker cloud over parts of Scotland, especially over central areas where a risk of drizzle is possible on the hills. For Ireland the morning should be bright too with some sunny spells, although a few showers cannot be ruled out in the south.
For the afternoon there will be little change with fair conditions for many. However, there is the threat of some heavy thundery showers being trigger over southern England and Wales, simply because of the warmth generated by the day. Fairly breezy for much of the country.
Winds will be mainly ENE-NE 12-18kt (F4-F5) but perhaps to 20kt (F5-F6) over northern England. Nearer SE-E 15-20kt (F5-F6) through Ireland and western Scotland.

SUNDAY ( see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn841.png and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+84.gif )
High pressure continues to dominate and will be to the west of Norway through the day. A showery trough over Wales and the southern Midlands bringing the potential for some heavy showers over much of England and Wales.
The morning sees variable cloud, probably not as much sunshine as on Saturday. Showers breaking out in the Midlands and Wales through Sunday morning, these then becoming heavier and thundery in the afternoon. At the moment, Wales, the Midlands, northwest England and central southern England look to be most at risk, but this area could change.
Western Ireland will have more cloud and some outbreaks of rain, but the east should be dry.
For Scotland and the rest of northern England the day should be dry with sunny spells.
A breezy day. Winds will be E-SE 15-25kt (F5-F6), nearer E-NE 12-16kt (F4-F5) in the south.

**ends**
