This pleasant fellow thought it would be a good idea to start his clapped out engine (13 attempts) at 3am. Assuming he was moving off I closed my hatches to prevent the petrol fumes from rendering SWMBO and I unconscious and waited about 20 minutes. With no movement I went out and asked him what he was up to exactly and that he was disturbing the people trying to sleep. He said he was moving off shortly but duly turned off his engine and said he didn't realise anyone was sleeping! I kept an eye on him for a bit only to be greeted by the site of him urinating off the side of his boat. In the end he and 3 others stayed all night and left in the morning.

I think the logo on the T-shirt refers to the empty space between his ears!

On the way back a boat called Nellie Melba didn't like the queue for Molesey lock and decided to overtake 5 boats to get to the front. Pleaded ignorance when we confronted the skipper about it saying she was new to boating. She knew enough to have a license and PLA security form ready at Teddington lock, however.

Other than that a great weekend!

What about their wash?

What about their wash?

With that outboard I doubt if they can make too much wash!! :D

I remember once we came back from the pub in Hampton around 2am and had to go back to our home berth in Kew but noticed other boat near us were overnighting so we ended up rowing a 25ft boat for about 50m!!!!!

I think Nellie Melba has indeed recently been sold , so it is plausible that the lady on board is new to boating.

Nellie Melba has a PLA form from the start of the Olympics.
