Went to Weymouth this weekend cause of the light winds on Friday night and forecast strongish North sector winds on Sunday.
Friday was very clear vis, one of those nights where the Milky Way really was white with stars and masses and masses of Shooting Stars. Some had tails that lasted right across the sky so must have been some quite big lumps burning up. Fantastic /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
On Sat evening left Weymouth at dusk and was treated to classic cold front wind shift. We were trundling along quite happy at 8/9 kts and it was bucketing down off Lulworth with 23kts W wind 10 degree off my chuff when bang - 40 degree shift to the north. Oops - god bless the preventers yet again. 10 minutes later all stars out with shooters across all the sky and we had great sail back to Chi, over 8kts adverage.
