Weekend plans?

Boatfixing Saturday, then familial duties.

New shiny Blue Seas shiny things to fit. Navtex to hook up, AIS santenna to connect. Conundrum in the form of a bracket required for autopilot ram, but hanging in fresh air at the moment.

Gods willing, two coats of antifoul and the boot top touched up over the weekend.

Getting desperately short of available weekends now before we're supposed to off to the south coast

Unless the traffic is bad, should be in the Ferry Boat by about 8-ish if anyone is about this evening

Will be going to boat and out for a sail - wind guru is looking quite gusty, especially on Sunday so will decide if I sail somewhere and stay overnight on the day. At best it will be a Blackwater weekend and unlikely to include spending money on overnight moorings so that is West Mersea off the list.

Going to the boatyard this afternoon.

Jobs to do:-
Refit cooling system to engine
Refit Roller reefing system to forestay
Set up standard rigging
Un-jamb Toilet outlet seacock
Lift her out of the trailer to complete antifouling
Re-install electronics
Drive to summer mooring and return to boatyard by dinghy.
LAUNCH!!
Move to summer mooring.
Get sails on etc.

Still scraping varnish :-(

We have to finish sanding off the teak on the side that isn't against the pontoon as there is only so much you can do hanging over the side.

Last weekend we finished off the side against the pontoon......

Sanded

Sixpence now has a partially white deck again after much jet washing to remove two years plus worth of green stuff, not even going to think about posting pic's after looking at your work there Duncan. Very nice, almost tempting to cover the deck with new ply and go with the wood look again, lost enough white now to make it look a bit patchwork quiltish  unless I can find a product which helps paint to stick to the treated ply deck of course
Rain currently stopped play here, if this lot is headed to the coast you lot had best get done what you can before it hits, stepped in a poodle on the way in so I know it's heavy

A little monkey reckons he is further forward on his renovation works than sometimes it seems

Now, that is good news.
Already feared that we would not get the chance to see PoH afloat before we bugger off to places were the water is blue iso brown
and where the echosounder does go into double digits.

Let's not get silly here, we know no place exists, it's but a fabrication from those of yonder parts intent on intimidating real East coast sailors into keeping away
On the other note, I agree, it would be great to see the Phoenix arise and set sail, so I'm keeping fingers (and toes) crossed for a good outcome on that score
