Re: The Scuttlebutt Mob

There is a "Julia" in Emsworth - he used to be special forces - hands like shovels, Local folklaw reports that some guys took the piss in a night club and "she" put them in Hospital. - nice fella though - size 11 slingbacks, now where can I find them for the trip?

Yoy wait till I see the bloody ferry again - I'm ready for him now...just you wait you big poof- let alone all them big shippy things in the channel, which way do they go, is it left to right first then the other way round or do they give way when we are on a starboard tack.

Where is our new forum bit then Kim...???

Re: The Scuttlebutt Mob

Had a most amusing weekend, but had to crew change via Cowes so never made the Folly. We took mother-in-law for a first sail together with skimpily clad 21 yr bombshell niece who took up sunbathing position on foredeck. 'Twas a busy weekend, and witnessed a near collision between two helms who were more intent on my foredeck than each other!

Eventually, MIL turned to say how friendly everyone was and how everyone was waving at her. Didn't have the heart to point at the foredeck...

Anyway, great weekend though a little crowded in Chichester for novice helms. Never seen East Head look so busy.

Re: The Scuttlebutt Mob

I know 'Julia' well (his cousin was my best man) and suspect that's where my sad inspiration came from. The incident ocurred a few months back in Emsworth square when a bunch of thugs started taking the p***. As you say, he's ex-special forces and gave them a bit of a seeing to. All the family can take care of themselves - his grandfather Jumbo fought Freddie Mills!

'Julia' uses the ladies in the Sussex when in 'uniform' which some of the locals don't like. Never heard any of them mention it to 'her' though...

Should add that 'Julias' dad was a bilge-diver on the Queen Mary, now there's a story!

Re: The Scuttlebutt Mob

yep Newton Creek was a little crowded too - we arrived mid afternoon and found what we considered the only available spot to safely O/N a small raft (Col/Geoffs/one other) and it worked well. Happy1 put in an appearance too but had to run over to Poole that night.
I briefly spared a thought for all the raggies given the light airs - but I will admit only briefly as it was our turn for the conditions and everyone seemed happy enough at anchor or under power /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
Sorry we missed your niece!

Re: The Scuttlebutt Mob

We had a really nice gentle sail Saturday (suits MIL) and motored most of the way back Sunday. Nephew and younger niece were on foredeck begging power boats to come closer so that they could enjoy the wash! Sadly, far too many were giving us a wide berth and even the Wightlink ferry wouldn't play.

Perfect weather for you stinkies, glad you enjoyed it.
