Weed filters

Hi can anyone please tell me if these weed filter meshes are the standard ones or are they (As I am thinking) a cheap botch job). All the ones I have seen on pics seem to be a drop in basket rather than just a tube of mesh. Help very much appreciated

Ah pretty basic then, how do you remove them without all the rubbish dropping into the housing?

Hi you simply pull the filter out and anything left behind in the tower is a roll up your sleeve job and in goes your hand.

We've got very similar on our Perkins M135. All brass which had a nylon mesh filter. Our mooring cut is quite weedy so I found that when it had weed in it, the pump collapsed the filter so I have just changed to the same as yours but not just rolled. Found a company on eBay doing any diameter and any length. £8. Actually marketed as exhaust filters.

You must have extremely thin hands! Looks identical to those on my Storebro, but no way to get a hand in, I use a little flexible grab it thingy which does the trick

Sorry I was forgetting i normally drop my skin diving hamster in the tower, works a treat little fella will do anything for a peanut.
