My one year old Airtop 2000 has just developed a problem, any ideas.
last year always started first go, this year takes a few attempts then usally starts, often running for 20 mins or so before having to re-start. Today it went through its start up sequence failed to light and indicated flame failure. tried a few times with same result. At the end of the day it started second attempt ran for 1/2 hour then had to restart and failed to ignight. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a lack of fuel getting to the heater IMHO. Choked filter perhaps, fuel line obstructed or drawing air perhaps. I would certainly start with the fuel supply and eliminate that first.

I had similar problems with my unit. It had the fuel conditioner fitted in the fuel line before the pump which turned out to be faulty, letting in air, looks like a short length of aluminium tube. I spoke to keto, who supplied, and they told me it could be faulty and i didnt really need the conditioner if i was getting fuel from a reliable source. I took it out, and all was solved. Only other problems I have had have been as a result of low battery voltage or faulty temp dial, later solved by fiddling with electrical connection at the back, again as recommeded by the chap at keto. Good luck!

OK - In the middle of the unit is a cup with the heater plug and a wire mesh, this will have become coked up.
Take out the unit split it and take out the cup, clear off the soot without damaging the mesh or the heater rod. I rinsed mine out in petrol then set fire to it!

You can't really see them but top and bottom of the cup are some wee holes, these have to be cleared out as well.

And the unit ready to go back together:
