Just been browsing my magazine in order to buy several new bits for my boat. To get further information, and to place an order I've logged onto several chanderly web sites. However as a rule they're AWFUL! A 10 year old could design better. Descriptions are poor, no photos (look at www.mailspeedmarine.co.uk) etc. Do these people want our money or not!

In the end you just have to get into the car and drive, don't you. I know what you mean though, having done the same when requiring quotes. Though I don't like the business of VAT being added to "retail prices", in the end ASAP come out very near the top.

I found http://www.seamarknunn.co.uk/catalog/index.htm great for getting an idea of prices. They are a real shop as well so not just a hidden face, their prices are good as well and free posting over a certain amount.

Cheers,

You don't think oceane is a funny name for an anchor? I mean, the ocean is the last place you'd use one. I like Spade

Maybe its ...

that they are not your usual 'browsers' site .... I couldn't imagine the average lazy surfer looking over a marine site and buying because of fancy designs. The majority of brwosing on marine realated sites is because of specific wants and the surfer is intending to buy or compare.

The requirement is different ... but I must adnmit that I hate .... a) registering on a free site - seems a waste of my time and I don't like giving out too much free info to others !! like my e-mail etc., b) noting that an item is listed as having greater details further into the site and then finding its on a completely different site and out of my original browsed site .... c) that there are no pictures or specs to compare it .... with another model. And the most 'vile' crime of all ..... not writing their own appraisal ... but copying the sales blurb straight of the box / catalogue !!!!!

But of course what d you expect from the Marine Industry ??? The industry that buys in Caravan window stays, changes the sticker on 'em and doubles the price and calls' em hatch stays ....

Bilge Keelers get up further ! I only came - cos they said there was FREE Guinness !

Copying manufacturers blurb

Guilty, but I figure they know more about what's in the box than me. Most of the time the customers know more about what's in the box than me!
