Id be grateful if a few people could check if the OA website loads OK esp in Google Chrome.

Causing me problems.. but OK in IE and AFAIK in Firefox.

Tnx

Works on my copy of Chrome, what was causing trouble?

Better than your average community web site, the font size adjustment feature is a bit fringe and cranky, if it was such a good idea then blue-chip web sites would offer this.

I'd try and increase the compression on the header picture. At 406 kb it stutters a bit on my connection at about 5 mb.
Otherwise seems to load fine.

Thanks folks.

Something wrong my end then.

The front page partly loads and then the machine freezes for a couple of minutes.

No troubles with any other site just this one and only I think since the picture display was changed.

Ok with IE .

I'm running an early Firefox - same problem as you, except the freeze is permanent: machine hangs. Have to Cntrl-Alt-Del and kill Firefox to recover. No problem on any other site (that I know of).

Any special reason you have saved the image as a .png and not a .jpg or a .gif?

I'd try it as a .jpg to start with and aim for about 150k.

Here it is as a .jpg (90 Kb)

IE9

froze whilst uploading the home page pics (i think) for about 45s but thereafter was perfect

like the gallery/hover over the thumbnail brings it up automatically

good website, cheers

Just for info, it looks good on Android's native browser apart from the fact that the banner doesn't scale to fit the page, causing it to run off the right hand edge.

It also displays well, but the banner does the same, on Firefox for Android.

Worked OK here on the latest Firefox.

In addition to Lakesailors suggestions, the picture transitions are very "jerky". Have a look at the slideshow in my signature. It's very smooth and was done with a freebie, link to that in the bottom right corner of the slideshow.

+1. Font size is something to change in one's browser settings, putting it on the page itself looks odd.

I'm on a fast network at work, so it loaded straight away, but if the top picture is 406k as others said then I'd suggest that's really too big.

Niggles really, it looks ok otherwise (Chrome on Linux).

Hi Vic, perfect on google via Atomic multi page opener app on phone- which is actually pretty fussy to anything not quite right, IME.

For me using, FireFox 12 on a 1028x764 4:3 screen, the 'n' in Associatio and everything right of that in the banner is cut off. The website isnt automatically setting up a horizontal slider as you might expect.

Works fine on Safari 5.1.5, Mac OSX 10.7.3. Loaded very fast, flipped through the menus and clicked on the links which all worked.

I agree with the font sizing comments, don't see the need and it looks odd as well. When I clicked through the font options the change in font size was not very noticeable. It could be an Apply thing as the "Cmd +" zoom feature of Apple's worked very well.
