I often see ones I don't understand so here's a list. Personally I think they are a PITA.

I'm sometimes at a loss with real English... so your list is welcome.
I agree with you, acronyms are a PITA !
Of course I understood that SWMBO was for wife but I thought of some relation with BIMBO, in fact jolly sailors aren't so rude !
By the way, WTHDTM foobar ?

I believe the original was FUBAR, "fouled up beyond all repair" or "BOHICA" (from WWII American army) "bend over here it comes again"

I don't think this is completely right. It's more basic than that, something to do with copulating methinks<s>
