Weatherman in the Med

Has anyone experience of the NASA Weatherman in the central Med. I am thinking about buying one for use in this area, from my experience the Navtex is almost useless in this area.

I was privlaged when in with the one of our national braodcasters recently to discuss med weather with one of their weather men
The answer was that weather can be so localised we were better off getting local weather reports from the marina or speak to the fishermen.
This I have found to be the best option over our last year in the med dispite having satellite internet access to the variuos web sites and access to the Gribs download formats.
