Weather where you are

And happy new year to you.
According to the latest grib, which I'm sure you have, it's going to stay windy and wet for a while around Cyprus. For the most part we're predicted to just miss most of the wind. Mind you, it's also predicted to be pouring down here now, yet it's glorious.
Sorry :ambivalence:

20C and sunny in La Gomera, Canaries. Light ENE at the mo but big swell later this week will keep us here a while longer - not that we mind!

Sadly the ferry no longer runs from here to Valle Gran Rey but we have sailed round and anchored there a few times since we got here. We've hired a car a couple of times too to show visiting friends and family around so have had some great views of the islands interior. Perhaps the best view of all though was of the rock formations at Los Organos for which we circumnavigated the island. A bit like the Giants Causeway on steroids!

As for the weather - it's still rather nice. If only the marina WiFi was as reliable!

Sea temp 28c air temp 29c. Christmas winds have been blowing for a few days [ reinforced trades ] but they dropped today so I made the 36 mile beat up from Grenada to Carriacou in 15 - 18 mph. Cracking sail according to my guests. Cat hid in locker for the whole trip, he hates tipping over.

Photograph of a retired British couple in todays Mail sitting in deep snow outside their home on Crete complaining that the Government wants to stop their winter fuel allowance when the weather there is colder than the UK.

Surely foot deep snow is not that common on Crete?

17C, blue skies, warm breeze, well when it isn't from the north, and no snow to speak of, tee-shirts and shorts for many, bit of a swell tho - southern Portugal.

AH I have discovered at last that the bad weather we are getting over here in sunny Cyprus is the fault of you lot in Crete. You are sending it over to us. STOP it at once as we here do not want the Cretan weather.

Understand?

If you do not then we shall refuse to send you any of our sunshine. Too HOT.jpg
